About This Opportunity
The volunteer drivers provide occasional assistance getting young people from our service communities to and from our group programs and special activities throughout the year. Our programs are based in the heart of Hanover and some of our young people live in the communities of Walkerton, Chesley, Ayton and Durham.
Many of the families we serve are low income and have unreliable vehicles or have inconsistent access to rides from family or friends. Our goal is to make our programs barrier free for these families, allowing the young people to experience the positive affects of consistent involvement in program.
When a young person's transportation is unavailable, the volunteer drivers team is notified of the need and any individual can accept and provide the ride for the child. The more drivers we have in the team the more likely all young people can attend their groups on a regular basis.
Volunteer Drivers are not expected to drive every single week, but as available will have opportunities to support kids in our program.
Must submit a clean 3 year driver's abstract and carry $2,000,000 liability on their Insurance. Volunteer Drivers will be subject to a screening process including Vulnerable Sector Check and references.
