About This Opportunity

September 28 from 11-2, CNIB Repair Cafe at the CNIB Hub located at 1525 Young Street. Volunteers are asked to be at the location from 10:30 to 2:30 to help individual on and off Wheel Trans vehicles. Volunteers are to help welcome individuals, distribute refreshments, be a relay between the repair technicians and the individuals with items needing repair and to provide sighted guide between the two floors of the building as needed. There are stairs and an elevator that can be used to access the upstairs. We are looking for 2 volunteers.

CCB Toronto Visionaries is a local chapter of the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB), a national registered charity. Chartered as a CCB chapter in 2013, the CCB Toronto Visionaries is dedicated to breaking the isolation that so often accompanies vision loss, encouraging members to be inspired by their peers, to building supportive social networks through sharing information and engaging in a wide range of social and recreational activities. We are looking for volunteers to act as support people for individuals with visual impairments. We currently hold a wide variety of social activities and events, including Pub Nights, Bowling, Walkathons, Bus Trips, etc,).
