About This Opportunity
Any person 14 years and over can volunteer in the arena. Those 12-14 years old can help assist in the barn area only. Previous experience is not required but can be beneficial. The only requirement is the wish to help others achieve their goals. All volunteers are asked to participate in an orientation session before working in the program (if there is one scheduled before the start of a session). Otherwise, a small orientation will be arranged per individual base.
Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis throughout the 10-week winter, spring and fall sessions and the 1-week (5 days) session. Their duties are primarily handling the horses and side-walking with the riders. They may also participate in grooming, tacking the horses, fundraising and promotion activities.
