Location: Remote
Commitment: 3-5 Hours weekly / Flexible Hours
About Us:
Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) Canada is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). We aim to raise awareness, provide education, and advocate for improved care and research. We are looking for a passionate and organized Volunteer Project Coordinator to join our team and help lead various projects that align with our mission and goals.
Position Overview:
The Volunteer Project Coordinator will play a vital role in planning, executing, and managing projects that support our organization's objectives. This position will focus on coordinating efforts for community outreach initiatives and internal improvement projects, working closely with volunteers and stakeholders across the organization. This is a volunteer position with a flexible commitment that allows you to make a meaningful impact without the constraints of a full-time role.
Project Planning and Coordination:
Develop project plans, define scope and objectives, and establish timelines. Coordinate project activities to ensure timely completion of tasks and achievement of project goals.
Volunteer Engagement and Management:
Engage, and manage volunteers for various projects. Assign tasks, provide support, and ensure volunteers are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
Communication and Collaboration:
Serve as the primary contact for project-related communications, facilitating effective collaboration among volunteers, team members, and external partners. Keep all stakeholders informed of project progress and any changes to plans.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all projects, including project plans, progress reports, and meeting notes. Regularly update team members and management on project status and outcomes.
Quality Control and Improvement:
Ensure that all project activities are conducted in accordance with SJS Canada's standards and guidelines. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance project effectiveness and volunteer satisfaction.
Community Outreach:
Assist in the development and execution of community outreach initiatives, including organizing events, creating awareness campaigns, and building relationships with community members and partners.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for engaging and motivating volunteers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Experience in project coordination or management, preferably in a non-profit or volunteer-based setting, is an asset but not required.
Proficiency in using collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and project management software is an asset.
