About This Opportunity

Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) is a volunteer-run cat/kitten rescue organization serving Vancouver and surrounding municipalities in the Lower Mainland since 2000. Our Vancouver headquarters and transition center is where rescued cats are nursed to health before being placed in one of our 550 volunteer foster homes. Each year, we find forever-homes for 1200+ cats and kittens. We welcome cat lovers, pet owners and animal loving hearts to help support our mission!

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual who can dedicate 4-6 hours per week to join our team as a Recruitment Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing volunteer applications, ensuring that all applicants meet our organization’s requirements and align with our values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review volunteer applications submitted through Better Impact.

  • Communicate with applicants to request additional information or clarify details.

  • Set up interview times with applicants and perform phone interviews.

  • Maintain organized records of volunteer applications and related documentation.

  • Communicate with team leads on a regular basis on hiring needs.

  • Provide support to the Recruitment Team Lead as needed.

  • Able to dedicate 4-6 hours per week (approximately 45 mins for multiple times in a week).

  • Team meetings once every month.

Qualification

  • Loves animals or has had pets. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience with Better Impact is preferred. 

  • Understanding of the recruitment process or previous experience with recruitment will be an asset.

  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination or administrative support preferred.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Able to check emails and reply to candidates throughout the week.

  • Able to volunteer for a minimum 6 month commitment.
