About This Opportunity
Purpose: Volunteers are at the heart of what we do at Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa. Our volunteers’ dedication, reliability and skills are the keys to our success. This support allows Habitat Greater Ottawa to raise funds to cover the affiliate’s operational costs and build homes in the community.
Time Commitment: 11am-1pm 2 days/week at Trainyards ReStore
Position Duties: • Operate Point of Sale • Accept payment from customers. Handle cash, credit and debit transactions • Provide excellent customer service including greeting customers • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at the checkout counter
Qualifications and Skills: • Previous experience working in retail is an asset but not mandatory • Ability to work with a team and independently • Ability to effectively communicate with customers • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual • Basic computer skills • Multitasking skills and attention to detail
Important to Note: Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Individuals who are 16-17 years of age require a waiver signed by a parent and/or guardian.
Volunteer Orientation and Safety Training is mandatory for new volunteers. All ReStore volunteers must provide and wear their own CSA approved steel toe boots.
