Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) is a volunteer-run charity cat/kitten rescue, serving Vancouver and the Lower Mainland since 2000. Each year, we rescue and find forever-homes for 1200+ cats and kittens. 

 VOKRA’s mission is: 

“To end cat overpopulation and cat homelessness. We rescue, heal, then home cats – first in our network of foster homes, then in carefully matched, loving, forever homes. We are a passionate, volunteer-driven charity with extensive cat care experience. We believe that no-kill is the only responsible approach, that TNR works, and that cats are awesome!” 

ROLE TITLE: TIKTOK Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Marketing   

LOCATION: Remote 

POSITION TYPE: Part time/ Volunteer 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Content Creation: Develop, film, and edit TikTok videos that showcase adoptable cats, foster stories, and behind-the-scenes rescue efforts. 
•  Strategy & Growth: Create a content strategy that aligns with VOKRA’s goals and increases our TikTok following and engagement. 
•  Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments and messages, fostering a strong community of followers who support our mission. 
•  Trendspotting: Stay up-to-date with TikTok trends, sounds, and challenges, incorporating them into content to boost reach and visibility. 
•  Collaborations: Identify opportunities to collaborate with other TikTok influencers, animal rescue groups, or local businesses to expand our reach. 
•  Analytics & Reporting: Track video performance, engagement metrics, and growth, and provide monthly reports to the marketing team with recommendations for improvement. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

•  Strong understanding of TikTok and its features. 
• Creative, with video editing skills using tools like CapCut, InShot, or TikTok’s native editing tools. 
• Passion for animal rescue and a love for cats. 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with followers. 
• Ability to work independently, be proactive, and manage time effectively. 
• Experience in social media management or marketing is a plus but not required. 

DESIRED SKILLS 

• Eye for storytelling and the ability to create fun, engaging content. 
• Knowledge of animal care and rescue work. 
• Basic understanding of analytics and performance tracking on TikTok. 
• Available to volunteer 4 hours (minimum) per week
