About This Opportunity
Students are matched with a volunteer tutor based on the student's interests, needs, and availability. Each session is 1 hour long and students can work on homework, review concepts, and participate in educational activities with the support of their tutor. Students will spend around 45 minutes of each session on academics, studying, and learning. The remaining 15 minutes are dedicated to socializing, having fun, playing games, and building a connection with their tutor. Tutoring sessions will be a balance academics and social bonding.
Primary Responsibilities:
Tutoring a student (ages 6-15), assisting with their homework and in building their studying skills.
Subjects might include: Math, Reading/Writing, Science, Social Studies, ESL, and French (you choose!)
Balance academics with social bonding by creating a fun and engaging environment.
Steps to Tutoring
Fill out the intake with tutoring preferences and availability, which will eventually help us out when we are matching you with a student.
We check your reference listed and have them fill out our reference form.
In the meantime, we ask tutors to read through our training slides and fill out the training form as well as complete a myBackCheck background check, both of which will be sent to you via email.
Attend a screening interview (you can schedule this using the calendly link at the bottom of the training form)
Once all of these are completed, you will be eligible for matching.
Based on the information provided on both their intake as well as student intakes, we will match you with a student.
