About This Opportunity
We are looking for eager and committed volunteers to join Family support teams, lead Family support teams, or do informal language interpretation.
Volunteering with refugee families in our community is a special and rewarding opportunity!
The main purpose of the program is to mobilize volunteers and
community support to help Newcomers feel welcome and included in Kingston. We try to
accomplish this through several programs.
• Family Support Teams: We match our GAR client families with a volunteer team. The
focus of the volunteer team is to be friendly neighbours with the family and help them
to feel included in the community. The family support team program allows our families to practice their English, help children with schoolwork, and explore the
Kingston community.
Volunteer Requirements
Whether you meet these requirements or not, we encourage you to share your interest in us. You may still be a fit for a different opportunity with our organization.
- Minimum 16 years old
- Proof of Covid Vaccination
- Willing to undergo a background or police records check
- Comfortable commuting to opportunity location
