About This Opportunity
As a Weekend volunteer at Martha's Table Community Program, you will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and efficient day working either the early and late shifts on weekends. You will assist in meal preparation for the upcoming week and maintain cleanliness, including dishwashing duties and operating the take-out window. Shifts Available early shift (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) take out window (10:30-2:30) or the late shift (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM).
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Service and Take-Out Window Operation: Take orders, serve meals, and manage the take-out window efficiently to provide a warm and efficient dining experience for our clients. Ensure accuracy in orders and address any special requests or dietary needs.
- Meal Preparation: Assist in meal preparation for the upcoming week, including food portioning, packaging, and labeling. Follow food safety guidelines and ensure all meals are prepared with care and attention to detail.
- Hygiene and Safety: Adhere strictly to hygiene standards, including wearing required attire such as aprons, hair nets or hats, and gloves. Maintain a clean and organized work area, sanitizing surfaces regularly to ensure the safety of our clients and volunteers.
- Dishwashing and Cleaning: Assist with dishwashing duties as needed to maintain cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen.
- Shift Commitment: Attend scheduled shifts punctually and reliably, whether it be the early shift (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) or the late shift (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM). Communicate promptly if unable to fulfill a shift, allowing ample time for finding a replacement.

- Hygiene Conscious: Respect for hygiene and safety protocols, including adherence to food handling guidelines and wearing required attire for food service.
- Reliability: Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in attending scheduled shifts, with a commitment to supporting the community through consistent volunteer service.
