About This Opportunity
The Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers Society is currently seeking a society Treasurer.
The Treasurer's role includes (but is not limited to):
• Reviewing, coding, and approving proposed entries, payment requests, and GST rebates forms by the bookkeeper
• Compiling a Treasurer's report from the GL and Financial Reports provided by the bookkeeper and reviewed by the Treasurer
• Presenting the Treasurer's report at the monthly Board meetings and addressing questions and concerns
• Attending the Executive Committee monthly meetings
• Applying for grants (grant writing skills)
• Filing grant financial reporting
• Preparing year-end supporting documents to the accountant in a timely fashion
The Treasurer has several opportunities to be involved in various community events often including elected officials, City Councils, RCMP, Chamber of Commerce events, many local Entrepreneurs and the general public. In addition to the networking opportunities there are opportunities to join other Committees as they are needed to support the Crime Stoppers Program further building marketing and various business skills.
