About This Opportunity

Do you enjoy helping others express themselves, improve their communication skills, and build meaningful connections?Join Toastmasters for Seniors: Building Healthy Relationships and Communication Skills as a Communication Support Assistant Volunteer and support older adults in an encouraging environment!

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in facilitation, interpersonal communication, and event support while making a positive impact on the confidence and well-being of senior participants.

What You’ll Do:

- Assist facilitators during communication and relationship-building workshops

- Help guide participants through active listening, conversation practice, and group discussions


- Offer support, encouragement, and constructive feedback in a warm, respectful manner

- Facilitate or assist with paired activities, role plays, and small group exercises

- Promote a safe, inclusive space where seniors feel heard, valued, and connected


What You’ll Gain:

- Skills in active listening, empathy, and helping others express themselves

- Deeper understanding of how to support adult learners and foster healthy dialogue

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to learn! Ideal candidates will meet the following:

✔ Age between 12 - 30
✔ Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills
✔ Commitment to completing basic training
✔ Fluent in English
✔ Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (if over 18)



Bonus Skills

✔ Experience volunteering or working with older adults
✔ Fluency or strong proficiency in a language other than English
