Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Specialist to play a crucial role in securing funding for our vital programs and initiatives. This part-time volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to contribute your skills and passion to a meaningful cause and make a tangible difference in our community.
The Grant Specialist will be responsible for researching, identifying, and developing grant proposals to support our organization’s programs. This role requires excellent research, writing, and organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding of grant funding processes.
Job Responsibilities
Grant Research:
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources.
- Utilize online databases, grant directories, and other resources to identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Stay up-to-date on current grant trends and funding priorities.
Grant Proposal Development:
- Develop compelling and well-written grant proposals that align with funder guidelines and requirements in collaboration with the management team.
- Gather and organize necessary supporting documentation, including budgets, program descriptions, and organizational information.
- Collaborate with program staff and other volunteers to gather information and ensure accurate representation of program needs.
- Edit and proofread all grant materials for accuracy and clarity.
Grant Tracking and Reporting:
- Maintain a database of grant opportunities, application deadlines, and submission status.
- Track grant submissions and follow up with funders as needed.
- Assist with grant reporting and compliance requirements.
Relationship Building: When applicable, help to build and maintain relationships with grant funders.

- Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals.
- Proficient in using online databases and research tools.

- Previous grant writing experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with non-profit operations and grant funding processes is a plus.
