About This Opportunity
The Volunteer Facilitator will provide support to parents with neurodivergent children through our Parenting Support Group in Spanish. The group is run by two or three co-facilitators who are trained and supported by PSS staff and by other volunteers. Our groups are base on self-help, peer support model which provides a safe space for Group members to get together and discuss their strengths, challenges or concerns about parenting role of the child development and parenting. The Group meet once a week, 2 hours in person. The duties of the Volunteer Facilitator is facilitate group discussions, contact new referrals and do the intake. Assist with the financial aspect of the group. Submit assistance and financial reports at the end of the month. Attend monthly Steering Committee and Facilitator support meetings. Participate in ongoing PSS training and workshops. Supply the group with information on community resources.
Training online: Self-paced 15 hrs. (1 months to finish) and 3 Live Zoom sessions on July 25, 27 & 30, 2024. Free for those who are able to commit one year of volunteering in the position.
