About This Opportunity
As a volunteer Crisis Responder, you will be trained to:
* Help victims cope with the impact of crime, abuse, crisis, tragedy and adverse situations
* Provide short term emotional support, community information and referrals in person and on the phone
* Attend on scene with police and other emergency services, to support victims of crime and tragedy
Your work will empower those, residing in Caledon and Dufferin, to participate in the healing process of their choice. You will receive specialized training in such areas as: crisis intervention, domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, grief, bereavement and effective communication skills. You will be offered opportunities for free on-going training and support. Upon successful completion of our training, you will join a team of trained Crisis Responders and choose your availability from a flexible schedule. We will require 3 shifts per month, if not more.

- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must have access to a vehicle
- Must live in Dufferin County or Town of Caledon
- Must complete a Vulnerable Sector check
- Must be 18+ years of age
