About This Opportunity
Since 1971, the Hyack Festival Association has produced countless parades, festivals and other community events for the citizens of New Westminster. These are free events designed to bring our community together and celebrate our rich heritage and diverse cultures. What we offer:
1. Opportunity to be part of a long standing Festival and Event planning organization in New Westminster
2. Meet and network with like-minded individuals who share the vision of bringing our community together
3. Be part of an organization with more than 100 members, and countless volunteers
4. Attend Member TGIF socials and meet new friends
5. Opportunities to march with our Festival Float at local parades throughout the Lower Mainland
6. Each Board member is required to participate in at least one committee and support one more
What you bring:
1. Ability to commit to regular Board and other event planning meetings throughout the year (in person and/or zoom)
2. Skillset preferred:
a. Good organizational skills
b. Event planning experience
c. Non Profit Board experience
d. Knowledge of Society’s Act of B.C.
e. Experience working with and directing volunteers
f. Previous fund raising experience
g. A demonstrated team player who works effectively with others
