About the Role
York Region Youth Orchestra (YRYO) is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our weekly rehearsals. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth rehearsal environment for our young musicians.
Responsibilities include:

Arriving before rehearsal to unlock doors and prepare the rehearsal space

Setting up chairs, music stands, and other required equipment

Moving two timpani (large percussion instruments) from the basement to the second-floor rehearsal space. Please note: timpani are heavy instruments that require 2–3 people to lift and carry safely. Volunteers must be prepared to handle stairs (approximately 20 steps).

Distributing sheet music and assisting with music organization

Supporting staff or conductor requests during rehearsal

Tidying and restoring the rehearsal space after each session
